We are finished recording instrumentals. There are...six or seven songs. I don't really remember.

About to record vocals, and then press the tapes.

Hold your breath.

updates again

OKAY.So Evan and I (Morgan) are reworking just two of the old loathsome songs. There are about three or four new ones on the go...they are hard to play. We are starting over, and the new material will be less simple.

There are six or seven songs coming on a tape sometime. It should be out by April.

No comment yet regarding vocals.

Greetings, Toronto hardcore scene. It's been a short while since our last seemingly unimportant update. This post may hold slightly more significance than our average show updates, as this marks my first initiative to give a shit about this blog, informing you of, the first ever line-up change for Loathsome. About a few weeks ago, our first and only vocalist, Amanda, decided to part ways permanently. Many artistic visions, and co-operative working relationships in regards to Amanda's position in Loathsome were not exactly on sensible par or achieved in various respects. We do very much appreciate the countless amount of time and effort she has put into the band, and fully respect her decision to move forth. She has chosen to keep steady focus on pursuing her education at York. We wish her the best of luck.

Things have been rather slow, uneventful and "stay vacation-like", other than our line-up change. We've been on hold from all forms of jamming, rehearsing and writing, due to that fact that our currently unaccessible practice space has become occupied by hairy, tobacco loving, renovators. We'll return to our usual routinely awkward sonic renditions, in due time. Resolving the issue of vocal duty is the logical priority, of course.

To the pudgy lump who punched me numerous times in the face at the Iron Lung gig on Saturday; you better stop with such pound cake-core induced flexing, or you'll be too tough and fraudulently desirable to even walk out of your aunt's one-bedroom bungalow. Who knows, maybe you're into NSBM, not mincecore.

Blog mentions, tape update and show date

A lack of updates has happened due to academic occupations for Evan and I, nevertheless, there are some things happening for us.

Most importantly- we have a show this Saturday! You should come. It's $5 and we are playing with Montreal's Womb Raider- featuring members of Vile Intent, Barnburner and ex-Black Ships. I'm really excited to see them play/eat vegan poutine with them.

Apart from that, we're at the mixing and mastering stage of our 5 song demo tape but it won't likely be ready for the show. Our pal Kayle was kind enough to record us, so hopefully that will be ready soon. We'll have some patches and maybe some buttons for sale at the show though. Rest assured that Morgan will think long and hard about whether the tape will be released in green or purple, and that it will be accompanied by a burrito recipe and a free mp3 download.

Bootlegs and show

We're playing Matt Cuthbert's show at the 460 Spadina venue on Oct 1st. Data Cave are no longer on the bill.

Also go here for a bootleg of Loathsome's August 14th Siesta Nouveaux show. You can download it. Thanks a zillion to Martin of VI for secretly recording us.

We're working on getting demo tapes/CDs/patches made for the Oct 1st show (hopefully in time..) and just finished recording/art-making for our 2 song contribution to the No Apathy! G20 comp. It's going to rule.

Skate or die.
